Bettye Jean Love

Bettye Love, age 71, took her final breath at the Orlando Health Central Hospital in Ocoee, FL on Sunday, May 12, 2024. 

Bettye was born on January 6, 1953, to her parents John and Clementine Reed in Detroit, MI. She gave her life to God at an early age and was eventually baptized in Jesus Name at St. Paul Apostolic Faith Church in Highland Park, MI. She married the love of her life, Charles Love in 1978 at Mayflower Missionary Baptist Church and they enjoyed life together until his passing in October of 1993. She eventually moved to Clermont, Florida and became a faithful member of Simchat Torah Beit Midrash under the leadership of Rabbi Ralph Messer. God and her family meant everything to her, and she prayed daily. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Detroit, MI. She also attended Washtenaw Community College but graduated from Saint Leo University located in Saint Leo, FL She loved to cook and was an awesome caterer in both Michigan and Florida. 

Bettye is preceded in death by her husband Charles Love; her mother and father John and Clementine Reed; her grandson Brian Stewart; and her son-in-law Kevin Riley. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters LaToya (Bernard) Bonner; Anya Love; Shalonda Riley; and Wileena (Jerome) Tucker; her son Terence (Kreshia) Reed; her goddaughters Twanda Plair; and Nethia McConnell; her sisters Jacklyn Reed; Sharon McFadden; Gwendolyn Cannedy; Cheryl Reed; and Denise Sharpley; her grandchildren Gabrielle (Marcel) Love; Brittany Love; Jasmine (Dion) Taylor; Ashley Brown; Alexis (Angela) Taylor; Charles Love-Taylor; Darius (Iyana) Love; Terence Reed Jr. and Odayah Tucker; and a host of great-grandchildren, family and friends.
