Karen Lucille Mason, age 68, of Michigan, passed away on March 22, 2026, just days after celebrating her birthday on March 19. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan, where she attended Pontiac Central High School. Throughout her adult life, Karen traveled to many different states, including Tennessee, before eventually settling in Georgia. In her later years, she returned to Michigan to be closer to her family.
Karen was a devoted mother to her son, Brian Mason, and a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, whom she will continue to cherish in the afterlife. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Linda Adams, Verline Ivie, Janet Thomas, and Lisa Ivie, along with a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Miriam Ivie, her father, and her brother, Tony Mason.
Karen dedicated her life to her faith and served faithfully as a church usher during her years in Georgia. Her love for Christ was the foundation of her life and something she carried with her wherever she went.
Karen was a woman who loved to look good—her hair, her makeup, and her outfit always had to be right. She enjoyed the simple things in life like playing solitaire, spending time with family, and sharing laughs. She had a bold personality, talked her talk, and didn’t play around—you always knew when she meant business. At the same time, she had a playful side and loved to joke and keep things lively.
If Karen loved you, you knew it—because she was going to feed you. Her cooking was one of the greatest ways she showed love, and it’s something her family and friends will miss dearly. She had a way of bringing people together, making them feel cared for, and leaving a lasting impression on everyone she encountered.
Karen Lucille Mason leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, humor, and love. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
