A man of few, but impactful, words. A gentle soul, and always the calm in the midst of a storm.  Kevin Lee Jones was born the 7th child of the late Queen Esther and Washington Tim Jones, Sr. on March 4,1964 in Detroit, MI.    Kevin graduated from Denby High School in 1982. During his tenure at Denby, he was a member of the football team. He also participated in a school-wide protest against unacceptable conditions within the school. Kevin was known around the neighborhood as a laid back, easy going person, and often socialized with neighbors on the way to his favorite corner store.   As an expert strategist, Kevin was an avid chess player. He would spend countless hours playing against computer opponents and challenging his family members to take him on. He often emerged the victor. He urged all his nieces and nephews to become students of the game he so loved.  Kevin was also renowned for his fervent debating skills. There was not a topic in which he was not well versed nor willing to learn to challenge others. He developed convincing arguments as though he missed his calling as a professor or attorney at law. He had countless victims rethinking everything that they knew to be factual as a result of Kevin’s discourse.  Kevin was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Denise Riley, and brothers Solomon Kenneth Jones and Washington Tim Jones, Jr. He is survived by his brother, James Jones; sister, Geraldine Anthony; brother, Ronald Eugene Jones, Sr.; and brother, Nicholas Vincent Jones, Sr. He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
